Basic Medication
As part of ACE's holistic approach to providing care and treatment for PLWA, it works with the local health facilities to provide basic drugs such as anti malarial treatment, antibiotics, rehydrants, pain killers and vitamin supplements to help treat opportunistic infections and other diseases.
The provision of basic medication is essential as most of the rural health centres are poorly equipped and unable to meet the most basic of medical needs due to a continual shortage of drugs. ACE does not procure ART but works in conjunction with health facility staff and District Comprehensive Care Clinics to ensure that PLWA and malnourished children access proper treatment alongside good nutrition and basic medication.
