Last week (27-31 July), Ace Africa partnered with the Future Stars Academy and Doing Good to provide a full day of sports and arts training and activities at five different Arusha-area primary schools with Child-to-Child (CtC) Clubs. The participating schools were Ilkuroti, Olmotonyi, Lovilukunyi, Kisongo and Lemugur.

The training teams from Future Stars and Doing Good consisted of five football trainers, two volleyball trainers and two arts trainers. 40 students from each school were able to participate and all gained exposure to quality training in football and volleyball. The day’s programme also included arts training and activities. Children learned how to paint, as well as how to make art objects with items available in their communities, such as disposable bottles.

At the events, Ace staff educated the students about the importance of exercise in a healthy lifestyle. Ace Africa further supported the events by providing logistical and training support.

The events served to strengthen Ace Africa’s existing CtC Clubs in the selected schools. Both teachers and students gained valuable skills in the three activities that they will continue to use in the future. The schools also received sports and arts equipment to enable them to continue with the activities.

The CtC students were extremely enthusiastic about the new skills that they learned and look forward to continuing the activities!
