ACE Africa believes that HIV and AIDS is both a short term emergency and a long term development issue and that affected communities can themselves, provide the necessary support to orphans and vulnerable children to enable them to reach their full potential now and in the future. The ACE Africa 10 year programme addresses the key issues that affect a child’s life concurrently and is developed and implemented in line with national and international programming principles including; The Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Millennium Development Goals and GIPA (Greater Involvement of People Living with HIV and AIDS).
The ACE Africa programme contributes to the universal goals of:
- Increasing access to prevention, treatment, care and support services for People Living with HIV and AIDS and Orphans and Vulnerable Children
- Reduced poverty
- Increasing access to education for all
- Greater involvement of People Living with HIV and AIDS and marginalized groups in programming delivery, leadership, advocacy and policy making

ACE Africa upholds excellent governance, monitoring and evaluation and financial controls which support programme implementation. ACE Africa continues to be entrenched in the communities it serves, engaging one on one with beneficiaries, partners and donors to provide a low cost, effective, sustainable community led solution to the short and long term impact of HIV/AIDS in resource poor areas. Stringent monitoring and evaluation systems in line with country specific and international standards e.g. USAID - Quality Service Delivery, Duke University Individual beneficiary system, NACC - Community Based Project and Activity Reporting (COBPAR), TACCAIDS reporting guidelines and the Child Status Index and link to Duke, research and materials development.
