Ace Africa are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a grant given by The Innocent Foundation. The Innocent Foundation support various charities working all over the world, in order to help the world’s hungry. They believe that having enough nutritious food within a community is the foundations for health, education and economic development and aim to eliminate global hunger.

With this grant Ace Africa are now able to establish its 5th project site on Kome Island, Mwanza Region, Tanzania. Kome Island homes 63% of people living in abject poverty, 85% have poor diets resulting in themselves and their families living in food poverty with 44% of primary school children orphaned and living in vulnerable conditions.

The Innocent Foundation will be helping Ace to begin its new programme on Kome Island by funding the training of six women’s groups in livelihood activities over the space of three years. These activities will include kitchen gardening, dairy goat rearing, milling and community nutrition awareness days.

We very much look forward to seeing these new found skills being shared within the wider community members and are excited to see the progress within Kome Island. Ace would like to thank The Innocent Foundation for their grant and support so far, we look forward to updating you with the progress of this exciting new project over the coming years.
