11 November 2013Bablake Junior School supporting Orchorvus Primary School’s Ace CtC Club, Tanzania

Ace Africa are delighted that Bablake Junior School in Coventry have chosen to support us through fundraising and awareness raising efforts. Bablake School is being linked up with Orchorvus Primary School in Arumeru District, Tanzania where we have recently established an Ace Child to Child Club.

Bablake school will be raising money to train more teachers in the Child to Child approach, as well as helping buy essential items so children can attend school including school uniform, other scholarly materials, seeds for the kitchen garden and hopefully computers.

Lizzy Epsley, went up to give a school assembly to the children at Bablake aged between 7-11 on November 11th to discuss how life varies for children in Kenya and Tanzania. The walk children face each day to get to Orchorvus Primary School is on average 3km each way. Other common daily challenges include difficulty in accessing basic items such as food, shelter, water and medicine and frequently having to work from a young age.

We are keen to establish a link between Bablake and Orchovrus school through pen pals or email and look forward to developing this relationship.

If you know a school that might be interested in supporting Ace Africa please do get in touch. We can link you with one of our 205 identified schools with clubs in Kenya or Tanzania and provide children with the opportunity to learn about life in rural East Africa. Please do get in touch with the Ace UK office for more details. We will happily come and give a school assembly!
