Ace Africa Kenya has been continuing to mark Ace’s 10 year anniversary in Bungoma with some fun and varied activities.

On September 26th a number of schools were brought together including South End Academy, Khaoya Primary School and Bukembe Primary School as well as partners; the area chief, community activators, community based organisations, various government ministries and NGOs for an Ace organized football match. The Final saw Misanga Primary School lift the Ace Anniversary cup, beating Bukembe Primary School on post-match penalties. Misanga Primary then took on the Ace staff and beat them 2-1! Well done to the budding footballers from Misanga!

As well as football, a variety of other activities have been happening including an exhibition of products from the community members practicing modern organic agriculture, presentations from CtC Schools about education, HIV and AIDS and the plight of orphans. Counseling and testing is going on, as well as jigger’s eradication and education activities. There were speeches from children, beneficiaries and partners.

It was a very exciting day, and great to see so many smiling faces. It is a time for Ace Africa to reflect on the difficult times at the beginning, and the growth that has occurred across the county over the 10 years. It is touching to see students giving presentations on how Ace Africa has benefited their lives and eased their troubles.

A highlight of the day was to hear an 8 year old orphan girl stand up and talk about how Ace had helped her, providing her with education, uniforms, shoes, medication, nutrition and all the basic needs she required. She congratulated Ace and was very grateful for all their help.

Ace faced many challenges at the beginning, but seeing so many smiling faces at 10 years on and celebrating with them over September has revealed the positive impact we’ve had on so many lives. We are so excited for the next chapter and the next 10 years of helping more children and their communities.

Ace Africa Kenya would like to give a huge thank you, Asante Sana, to all the donors and supporters and hope for your continued support over the next 10! Ace is about long term commitment and support to communities. Ace is about developing communities for self reliance and today it is surely evident.

Thank you all.
