18 September 2014Oxfordshire Potters Hold Fundraising Exhibition in support of Ace Africa

Ace Africa is delighted to announce that four renowned Oxfordshire based potters will be holding an exhibition in order to raise vital funds for Ace Africa’s on-going programmes in rural Kenya and Tanzania.

The Cotswold Brewing Company have teamed up with Savills and Merriscourt to support an exhibition of work by four Oxfordshire based potters. The event, which takes place on Friday 10
th October, is set to be a brilliant evening with 10% of all sales kindly being donated directly to Ace Africa. The evening will also hold a raffle in order to support the communities and vulnerable children that Ace works with.

There will be four extremely talented and well-accomplished artists exhibiting on the evening; Bridget Tennent, Jane Bowen, Dylan Bowen and Tamsin Levene. Bridget’s work bows to the metaphor ‘less is more’, producing some of the most exquisite porcelain pieces all made from a pod in her garden set in the beautiful Oxfordshire village of Taston. Jane was introduced into the world of ceramics at a very young age, making her first pot at the age of 11 and in 2002, in partnership with Dylan, set up a workshop in Tackley. Dylan makes individual pieces in slip decorated earthenware. His work is mainly black and white with some occasional hints of colour. Tamsin developed a keen interest in ceramics during her foundation year and managed to graduate with a First Class Honours degree. She now lives in Oxfordshire where she works from a studio and specialises in wheel thrown stoneware forms.

“Ace Africa is thrilled to be supported by this wonderful event in the heart of the Cotswolds! Thank you to all those involved. I feel sure that this will not only raise much needed funds to support our community projects in rural areas of Kenya and Tanzania but that it will also strengthen existing and encourage new ‘Friends of Ace’ for the future. I very much look forward to seeing you all on the 10th.” Joanna Waddington, Founder and Director Ace Africa (TZ)

Ace Africa would like to say a huge thank you to all involved, the artists sponsors and to Bridget Tennent who pioneered the idea of this event. We look forward to updating you in due course and in the meantime please enjoy looking below at some of the artist’s pieces of work below.
